While at first Neuras might look intimidating, he is at heart; a kind and thoughtful man with a playful attitude, able to cheer up those around him.

An introvert who has known abandonment and previously not one for romance, Neuras is hesitant to open up.

A nomadic engineer the group encounters in the village Ligno.

At first Tallia appears guarded and impertinent, but later opens up to having a fierce and hyperactive demeanour. Often becoming uncontainable when certain subjects are brought up.

Bound by a curse made of despair after betrayal; Tallia has constructed walls of steel around her heart, never letting anyone too close.

Ishkia Tribe
According to the memorandum, we're told that Ishkia wings are just "clusters" of feathers. I personally disagree with this. As to have any form of shape that we see the Ishkia have, they would need some form of structure. Thus I personally feel that their wings are mainly made of cartilage with some Ishkia having a rudimentary skeleton depending on genetics. Regardless of my headcanon or the memorandum itself; we know purely by the design of Ishkia wings, that even if they were to have a full skeleton, they are fundamentally never going to be capable of flight. As to be capable of flight, two wings would be more functional than four as well as needing to be much much larger, with a bulky muscular and cardiovascular system. As for wing/feather maintenance, I like to think there are instruments similar to back scratchers that are used to free the keratin casing from newly grown feathers. There is also the social aspect of wing/feather maintenance; typically done by partners/parents, it is often seen as something immensely intimate. Speaking of intimate; I have it written that there are intricacies of courting behaviour within the tribe when it comes to the exchange of feathers. Depending where and which wing a feather is taken from, the meaning differs; - A feather taken from the middle to end of any wing can be seen as a general keepsake, given to friends or family as a token of remembrance/gratitude. - A feather taken from the inner most section, closest to the back; the more intimate of meaning. Typically can be seen as romantic or sexual in nature. - The same feather but taken from a damaged wing symbolises utmost trust between partners. - Betrothal feathers are typically taken from the same place, are then encased in resin/amber and adorned with jewels, precious metals and are then worn/kept in private areas unseen to public view.

Neuras Specifics
Taking the designs of Ishkia we see throughout the game(Rella, several NPCs etc); we can surmise that they're not fully able to keep their top wings flat to their back at the very base of the joint. (The only exceptions I can see is Milo and Julian? But both of them have very very slender wings in comparison to both Neuras and Rella.) With this in mind; on August 13th, after Junah joins the party, we get a cutscene where Will & Gallica ask Neuras what he has been doing all this time, while they've been working towards the mission of saving the Prince. He opens up to the pair about being in what is a horrific accident after the failure of a test flight. We also know from this conversation that he was left bedridden for months on end and it is from this that I personally feel that his top set of wings were broken. While this could also be seen as a reason for him walking with a hunch, personally I just feel the man has terrible posture(I know I sit like a shrimp when drawing so I feel like he would be similar in that regard.). I do feel that while they were broken at the top, he does still have some functionality with them, just not the extent other Ishkia have. While I do not believe this is the intent with him never taking off his jacket, it would very much serve as something functional to hide them from public view. We know that those who dislike the Ishkia will take any opportunity to ridicule them for the uselessness of their wings and on top of Neuras being very introverted, this would help mitigate further potential ridicule. I do also feel he would have minor scarring on his upper torso from this accident. I also feel this accident happens after the end of his engagement, possibly 5+ years later with the assumption his engagement took place in his 20s.

This is mainly due to how he speaks that even after the end of this engagement, his family tries relentlessly to set him up again, even to a much younger suitor. I also imagine that once settling into normal life again after the events of the game, his family would likely try and set him up again considering how he is likely seen favourably amongst the nobility again. This possibly lends into him keeping the portrait around as a deterrent for future suitors.

I wrote Kayden to be a gambling addict as outside of the racial discrimination there is of the Eugief, they are still respected a bit more than that of the Paripus(ex: Upper Class Eugief in Altabury) and would have had some form of capitol to start the workshop in the first place, let alone achieve a level of notoriety that most engineers respect their craftsmanship.

While not a region ruled by Sanctism, the village Tallia hailed from is one that practises multiples faiths and accepts those who believe in things other than faith with no question. Tallia's family believe that energy can not be created nor destroyed. That when one dies, the energy of their life returns to the universe to take on another purpose but retains elements of that life. They believe that the wind itself can be a guiding force that when listened to with a clear mind, it can guide them to where they were meant to be.

Composdutario
The Composdutario(a combination of the words: "Composer", "Producer" + tario); is a long thought dead magical discipline, that takes the widely used but mundane concept of music magic and adds a level of complexity that; when not taught well can lead to the death of the Dutari (the term for an individual). Each note is it's own spell and requires prior knowledge of magical script and skill. Conceived during the age of the Mage King, it was later seen as a dangerous art as whatever magic discipline that formed its basis could lead to destruction through sound and thus banned by the Sanctifex. The skill of the Composdutario, is not just contained within musical constraints. While it's main utility is for such, understanding how to manipulate sound itself can lead the Dutari to use it in countless ways. Such as silencing those around them to keep information safe (or to keep others from hearing one's "nightly activities"). As for a elemental affinities; Fire based Dutari's music invokes that of passion or anger. Healing based music can be just that; mass area of affect healing spells, ailments....or even curses/death. Outside of elemental affinity, a highly skilled Dutari can read the very frequencies of Magla itself, be it ambient, within an object or another person.

Mechanics Oath
The Mechanics Oath is a promise that new engineers make upon finishing their education and starting in the industry. It is a promise one makes when being given the privilege of witnessing another's work, as to never steal, plagiarise or sell. In modern times it is seen as a promise made in vanity. But to those with integrity, it is a blood oath; a promise one carries to the very grave.

⚙️ 776: Contracting Kayden Workshop ⚙️

Upgrading the Runner (Hubris)

It has been a year since the Prince has disappeared from Grand Trad and the Runner has entered possession of Neueirus Corvus Corax at the behest of His Majesty. It is at this point the Engineer decides that despite the Runner already being comprised of high quality parts, it doesn't hurt to upgrade her further. After inspecting the samples provided by the Engineers employed by Kayden's Workshop, he decides to go with the piece that hasn't just met his specifications but has improved upon in ways he had not expected. For Talliahna Aves Strigiforme; this contract, albeit anonymous, becomes her entire life. Pouring herself into each and every new blueprint that enters her workspace. Time is meaningless to her, only the overwhelming heat of the forge and cramps in her hands remind her that she is mortal and needs to look after herself. During this time a messenger is hired by Neuras delivering missives between the two Engineers, discussing adjustments, potential changes or even new ideas.

💔 780: Nepotism leads to Despair 💔

"...I thought I knew you..."

It's been 4 years since the start of what has been a whirlwind of ideas and deliveries between the two Ishikia. The Runner is shaping up to be even better than what Royal Enginneers could ever have hoped to be. As with everything; all things must come to an end. It is at this point the daughter of Kayden's Workshop; Lina has begun making her own way into the contract side of the Engineering world. While Kayden and Tallia have been friends for many years; even asking Tallia to be Lina's Godmother upon her birth, his daughter takes priority. Fortunately, it is at this point that the longstanding contract between Neuras and Tallia is nearing it's end, with only a dozen valve conduit left to make. Kayden, knowing this, decides to backstab his friend for the sake of his family and dismisses Tallia suddenly, handing over this last bit of work to his daughter. Tallia is blindsided completely, she had known & trusted Kayden for years and had helped the Eugief keep the workshop running despite his gambling addiction. With her heart broken, full of despair at her beloved work ripped from her, Tallia leaves Grand Trad in the middle of the night, with full intent of ending her life.

🪶 780-785: Life for a Vagabond 🪶

"I just...kept trying. But something kept getting in the way..."

Que the five years where Tallia continuously tries killing herself inbetween her habit of helping people for the sake of it.

🔧 785•August 21st (Flamesday): A chance encounter? 🪽

"I had hoped the Oracle was wrong. Alas..."

Group starts the journey to Scoundrel's Hold but is forced to bunker down in Ligno due to Magflash. Neuras implores Tallia to agree to a tour of the Runner before the storm arrives despite her speaking the oath. Later proposes a small contract for new valve conduits.

🏜️ 785•August 23rd (Arboursday): Try & stop me! 🏜️

"I had a overwhelming sense of...deja vu."

Tallia leaves before the group after the magflash subsides but is rescued from an onslaught of Valmo in the Tradia dessert(She considers this another suicide attempt.) and is knocked out cold in the process. Neuras appeals to Will to let her join them after filling him in that she had worked for him all those years prior and is worried for her.

💧 785•August 24th (Metalsday): A contract renewed, bonds forged & winds heard once more. 💧

"Please...not again...This was my whole life! Please..."

Tallia wakes up a day later in Virga after being knocked out hitting the runner. Finds out Neuras was her client all those years ago and proceeds to have a breakdown. After recovering, is asked to join the group by Will. Later wanders to the beach and reconnects with her guiding wind, not realising Neuras is nearby observing her.

Of course she'd try sacrificing herself to keep him and the runner safe, who do you think I am as a writer? Lmao.

"You recall I had petitioned some time off the other week?"

Timeskip to epilogue, Neuras catching up with Will and finding out he proposed to Tallia a week ago back at Sporico Cave.

Natural connotations
Based on his full name alone, we know Neuras is based on the common Raven(Corvus corax). For Neuras I see him as a Raven that was born with leucism: a genetic condition causing partial pigment loss. I've colour-picked his hair and wing colour and they're more in the cream colour zone rather than white which I like to think means he's always had lighter hair rather than it going grey over time. Tallia is similar in that she is based on an Owl(Aves Strigiforme). However Tallia is specifically modelled after the Eurasian Eagle Owl. This species of owl is known to be one of the largest species of owls in the world, with females being the larger of the sexes. They are also known to be highly aggressive and powerful predators. Tallia can be extremely aggressive and is an Archmage in her own right and along with a much larger wingspan than that of other Ishkia, lines up with her origins. These owls are also known for their strikingly bright orange eyes and head tuffs, something also present in Tallia's design. Their scientific name; Bubo Bubo, is the nickname Tallia's parents gave her as a child. She eventually tells Neuras of this nickname, only allowing him to call her that in private.

Nature's juxtaposition
In nature it is known that Ravens & Owls are natural rivals; however it is the opposite for Neuras and Tallia as within the Ishkia tribe's nature; they are both seen as outsiders. Both care heavily for other people and for the environment in contrast to most other Ishkia who are considered self-centred and self-serving.

Secret Boss
Tallia can be a secret boss of the Coliseum after certain requirements are met; Regicide/King of Kings only, Clearing "Become Champion of the Coliseum Quest" & Clearing 30+ consecutive battles in the Gold Gauntlet Challenge. Her skill set comprises of skills from other Atlus titles such as Fire of Sinai, the signature move of Metatron and Elemental Zero, the signature move of Brahman.

After some time together, Neuras ends up picking up this habit of chirping around her and later the pair communicate through chirps when in each others company. Tallia's pupils are also capable of fully dilating to nearly blacking out her iris when enraged. Tallia has no involvement with the lost relics despite sharing Neuras' enthusiasm. Purely because she respects that they are what he and Will have bonded over. Her only involvement happens during the Rank 7 quest where we fight Jin, which she will take the place of the three other party members and fight alongside Will.
